New Years Eve plans anyone?
Sooo a lot of my OC friends are going to Las Vegas for NYE, and I’m pretty sure my parents aren’t down for that. Plus it’s super expensive. Anyone around LA/OC, want to celebrate New Years together? I was thinking First Night Fullerton. I know, it’s “family friendly” and not as crazy as Las Vegas, but the foodie exhibit sounds pretty cool!

Rizal’s execution: Little known facts By Raymund Catindig (The Philippine Star) Updated December 29, 2010 12:00 AM Comments (39)
MANILA, Philippines - As we commemorate tomorrow the 114th year of national hero Dr. Jose Rizal’s execution at the Luneta, there are some details that may not be known to many – for instance, why he refused to be blindfolded and demanded that he face...
Style for a petite girl like me.
I’ve always had trouble with fashion. Not only was I extremely awkward and self-esteem deficient, I’m also rather tiny— 4’10 (and a half). Although I went to a high school with a bunch of small Asian girls, I was still always the tiniest, and I actually didn’t know many (or any?) other small Filipino girls who really looked like me. So I had no idea what the...
Shopping.
Yay! I finally bought myself a couple of pairs of boots, and at an insanely good price too. Cathy Jean was having a sale. I’m excited to wear them.
I also need to cool it on the spending. These after Christmas sales are ridikkulus. It’s hard to resist. Then again, I haven’t really shopped for anything since summer. During school, all my money goes towards food and groceries cuz...

Shrimp Adobo.
Apologies for not having any pictures, but an update without pictures is better than no update at all, right? I haven’t been really writing for a while in here! Life really caught up with me.
Starting from the recipe on this website…
1 lb. fresh shrimps (med size), unshelled
1/2 cup vinegar
1/4 cup water
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1/4 cup oil

Philippine cookbook.
borrowed this book out from the Biosciences library, and it is really disappointing. The recipes are way too simplified and from the two that I’ve tried, just plain wrong.
For a coconut milk adobo dish, it called for 1.5 cups of vinegar, which was way too much. Alan and I couldn’t even eat it after awhile. And for ginataang manok, which I just tried today, it was way too salty. I...
